Team Coaching

Team Coaching

"Individuals, teams, and organizations that have an understanding of the new advances in neuroscience regarding how the process of change takes place in the brain and how this manifests inter-personally have a significant advantage when it comes facilitating positive change."

Team Coaching Overview

Performance and results within organizations are driven by teams.  Work is interconnected and depends on innovative and cooperative groupwork to move the organizational mission and vision forward. However, due to the complexity, ongoing rapid change, and sometimes competitive pressure, many teams are not leveraging their collective skills, knowledge, and experiences that allow them to access full potential.  Because the brain impacts our perception of the world around us and how we interact with it, improving brain functioning and thinking is at the heart of optimizing team performance.

Therefore, our coaching approach draws from the science of how the brain works and integrates it with the science of attention, which is the foundation of coaching.

The Team Coaching Journey

When a team wants to align themselves around their values and goals, having a team coach can be useful. This is a change journey the team takes on to come together as a unit to elevate performance. The team coach facilitates this process and supports the team throughout the journey. This process is experiential. For example, there might be exercises, team activities, training, and/or questions to reflect on. The team coach will create a safe container for team dialogue designed to strengthen the relationship between team members and maximize the team’s potential. The team is viewed as an interdependent system. Therefore, all voices are important in a team coaching journey.

The journey will kick off with a goal setting process. Some things that will be discussed include:

  • Needs
  • Strengths
  • Areas for development
  • Vision

General outcomes that result from team coaching include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Improved alignment with team goals
  • Strengthened relationships
  • Clear sense of purpose (why team exists) and common mission
  • Improved communication and trust
  • Increased empowerment to mobilize positive change
  • Increase in performance
  • Increase in team coherence
